The Software Development Kit, or SDK, is a set of code files bundled together to provide additional features to mobile apps. Most, if not all, mobile developers use one or more SDK in their apps to do certain tasks. For example, photo editing SDK to add effects for a photo, networking SDK to make it easier to communicate with a server/backend system, or analytics SDK such as Facebook’s SDK and many others. Using an SDK saves developers time, for instance, instead of writing code to add effects on a photo, developers add the SDK files to their app and they can start using those effects right away.
